Metso Acquires New Screen Manufacturing Center in Romania from EMSIL

Metso, a Finnish provider of sustainable technologies and solutions for the aggregates, minerals processing, and metals-refining industries, has acquired a production facility in Oradea, Romania, from EMSIL Techtrans, in order to expand its stationary-screen-production footprint by with a new manufacturing center.

Metso, which reported sales of about EUR five billion euros last year, has announced that the production center will have more than 70 employees by the end of next year.

“This investment is a continuation of our regional strategy implementation,” said Jouni Mahonen, Vice President of the Screening business line. “A new center in Romania will improve responsiveness to meet customer needs, answer to growing demand in growth markets, and strengthen our ability to deliver tailored screening solutions efficiently.”

“Customer proximity is at the heart of our service philosophy,” added Adrian Wood, Vice President, Central Region Screening business line. “Through this investment, we enhance our ability to serve customers by being faster and efficient. We will be able to be more flexible allowing us to meet regional specifications and needs, while also ensuring strong service capabilities through integrated screening media production.”

The Oradea facility in Romania will complement Metso’s existing stationary screen equipment production footprint in France, Brazil, India, South Africa, and China.
