Warsaw Trade Tower Receives Highest Level of BREEAM Certification

Globalworth has announced that the Warsaw Trade Tower, which is describes as “one of the oldest and most recognizable office buildings in the Warsaw skyline,” has become one of only 23 office buildings in the world to achieve a BREEAM certificate at the “Outstanding” level — the highest possible.

According to Globalworth, the certificate “was awarded based on the demanding BREEAM in Use v6 Part 1 system. The iconic skyscraper from the Globalworth portfolio achieved an impressive result of 90.7%, making it not only the current leader in Poland, but also the third best office building in the world in terms of BREEAM certification.”

Built over 25 years ago according to the design of a team of Polish and American architects, the building underwent a what Globalworth describes as “comprehensive modernization” under its experts, “thanks to which it has once again become one of the most modern skyscrapers in the capital.”

“We are proud that our flagship office building joins the small group of office investments with the highest BREEAM Outstanding certificate,” commented Bartosz Marcol, Sustainability & ESG Manager, Globalworth Poland. “This is a confirmation of our commitment to building a future in which sustainable construction and ecological innovations become the norm, for the benefit of our tenants, investors and society. Through investments such as Warsaw Trade Tower, we prove that the most ecological buildings are those that already exist.”

“Warsaw Trade Tower is a building that is currently powered by renewable, wind, and solar energy,” added Agnieszka Ewertowska, Senior Property Manager, Globalworth Poland. “The modern, modernized building management system is supported by artificial intelligence to save as much energy as possible. In turn, users can use the innovative Globalworth App, which allows, among others, opening doors, managing parking spaces and booking offices and conference rooms. We also offer people working in our building above-standard amenities, including modern facilities for cyclists with a drying cabinet, a meditation room, a room for a carer with a child and a green area with arranged relaxation zones. The certificate in the Outstanding category confirms that regardless of the metrics, Warsaw Trade Tower is one of the most modern skyscrapers in Poland, evolving in accordance with ESG requirements and current technological trends.”

“The idea of creating a unique place to work in terms of energy and environmental impact has guided us from the very beginning of the modernization works in Warsaw Trade Tower,” explained sZofia Iwanowska, Property Manager at Warsaw Trade Tower, Globalworth Poland. “Sustainable buildings are not only a matter of the latest technologies, but above all, greater comfort of work for our tenants and lower operating costs for users. The BREEAM certificate with the highest possible rating definitely increases the value of our building in the eyes of tenants. Many companies conduct pro-ecological policies as part of their activities and willingly choose Warsaw Trade Tower as their headquarters.”

“Receiving the BREEAM certificate at the Outstanding level is a great distinction for us and confirmation that the intensive modernization of Warsaw Trade Tower, which has been carried out since 2019, is the right direction,” concluded Artur Apostoł, Managing Director – Real Estate Operations Poland at Globalworth. “Users value our flagship building primarily for the increasing comfort of work, which is possible thanks to the advanced solutions used. At Globalworth, we create an environmentally friendly space that supports the development of technology and is in line with sustainable construction trends. This achievement not only brings great satisfaction, but also strengthens our responsibility for the future. I would like to thank all teams, especially Property Managers, ESG specialists and experts from the Workplaces department, who have worked hard for this success over the past few years.”
