Panattoni to Build Modern Car Electronics Component Factory for Compal in Poland

Panattoni has announced that it is constructing a Built-To-Own manufacturing center for Compal in Czeladz, Poland, which Compal will use to produce electronic components for the automotive industry.

The ground-breaking ceremony took place on July 29th and construction is scheduled to conclude in May, 2025, at which point the first stage of the factory will open. According to Panattoni, “the facility is to reach its full capacity between 2028 and 2029 after the completion of future expansion work. Eventually, 328 people are to be employed in the new center, including 269 people in the production hall and 59 office workers.” The total value of the investment is estimated at around EUR 14.5 million.

The factory will be built on three land plots purchased by CGS Technology sp. z o.o. the Polish subsidiary of Compal. The first stage of the development will have an area of 7,650 square meters, 3,000 of which will consist of manufacturing space, with 3,100 square meters of storage space and 1,550 square meters of offices. The project is to be certified under BREEAM for a rating of Excellent.

Panattoni describes Compal Electronics Inc. as the “biggest laptop manufacturing company in the world,” and as “a global leader from Taiwan in the production of laptops and electronics.” The new factory in Czeladz is expected manufacture advanced electronics components such as ADAS and ECU modules as well as 5G communication units for the automotive industry in Europe. According to Panattoni, “due to the nature of [Compal’] operations, the building has to be constructed to meet [its] exact specifications. The entire production line is to be placed in a clean room, with ESD flooring as well as strictly monitored temperature, humidity and dust-free air, which are all essential for the creation of advanced electronics.”

Panattoni was the natural choice as our partner for us to develop our first European production plant due to the developer’s extensive experience in delivering complex BTO projects.”
