Panattoni Revitalizes Brownfield Site in the Czech Republic

On November 16, 2021, Panattoni announced that they had transformed the former Kavalier glassworks site in Hostomice, Teplice, into a modern industrial space.

According to the company, the investment into the new industrial zone — Panattoni Park Teplice South — amounted to half a billion CZK.

“We have been transforming old and sometimes long-dead industrial sites into modern industrial spaces in the Czech Republic for ten years now and I have to say that it is a fascinating adventure,” said Panattoni General Manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. “In our brownfield portfolio, we have machine shops, a trolleybus plant, a coal mine, and now, thanks to Hostomice, the famous glassworks. Each successful transformation assures us that this path is the right one and that it will eventually lead to the creation of similarly famous operations.”

The first tenant of Panattoni Park Teplice South is the Czech sanitary equipment retailer Sanitino. “I am not afraid to say that today, after thirteen years on the market we have started another era for our company,” commented Sanitino Managing Director Rudolf Janis. “From the new central warehouse, we will now supply not only the whole of Central Europe but also Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Romania, and Croatia. Gradually, we plan to expand our distribution to the whole of Europe. We are now able to ship over 40,000 products per month, but we expect to more than double this in the future.”

Panattoni also informed that the new industrial park will bring 300 jobs to the Teplice region, 50 of which will be in the Sanitino hall alone.
