Marriott International Announces Intention to Open Three New Hotels in Romania

Global hospitality group Marriott International has announced that it will open three new hotels in Romania in the next five years as part of a partnership with Romania’s Pritax Invest.

The three hotels will include a new Courtyard by Marriott Sibiu Downtown in Bucharest, scheduled to open in the second half of 2026, a new Four Points by Sheraton hotel of Marriott Bonvoy in Cluj-Napoca, scheduled to open in 2027, and a new Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Timisoara, scheduled to open in 2029.

“This agreement consolidates the demand we see for international hotel brands in the region and supports the development of Marriott Bonvoy projects in Romania,” said Silvija Lovreta, Vice President Development – Central and South Eastern Europe, Marriott International.

Marriott International previously partnered with Pritax Invest to open the Courtyard by Marriott Cluj-Napoca Downtown.

Marriott International’s Romanian portfolio currently includes six properties in Romania: JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, Sheraton Bucharest, The Marmorosch Bucharest, Autograph Collection, Moxy Bucharest Old Town, Courtyard by Marriott Bucharest, and Courtyard by Marriott Cluj-Napoca.
