DB Schenker Leases 17,000-Square-Meter Space in Hillwood Rawicz Warehouse Center

Hillwood has announced that global logistics operator DB Schenker has leased over 17,000 square meters in the Hillwood Rawicz warehouse center for a client producing high-end optical products and sports accessories.

Hillwood Rawicz, a class A warehouse center located at Korzensk in the Zmigrod commune of Poland, has been awarded a BREEAM certificate at the Excellent level. The park offers nearly 147,000 square meters of modern warehouse space.

DB Schenker employs around 72,700 people in over 1,850 locations in 130 countries. The company provides land, air, and ocean transport services, and also offers comprehensive solutions in contract logistics and global-supply-chain management. In Poland, DB Schenker’s logistics network consists of 18 transshipment terminals, 15 logistics warehouses, three air-freight offices, two ocean-freight offices, and a central customs agency. The company leased 17,000 square meters of warehouse space and 330 square meters for offices in Hillwood Rawicz — which will become its 16th warehouse location in Poland.

“Contract logistics is a very important and rapidly developing business area at DB Schenker,” said Dariusz Doros, Contract Logistics Director in the North East Europe cluster at DB Schenker. “The warehouse in Rawicz is our next location over the last few years. The area was designed for the needs of logistics services for a manufacturer of optical products, and the assortment stored here will include over 30,000 types of articles, the so-called SKUs. From here, they will be sent to recipients around the world. The standard, infrastructure and location of the warehouse therefore had a significant impact on the decision to start cooperation with the developer, Hillwood met all our expectations in this area.”

“I am glad that DB Schenker has decided to choose the Hillwood Rawicz warehouse center,” said Jan Bielski, Leasing Manager at Hillwood Polska. “The key advantages of this project are its excellent location and the presence of qualified staff, which significantly supports the implementation of our clients’ business goals. Easy access to Western European markets as well as all major Polish cities is definitely one of the aspects of this location most appreciated by tenants.”
