Skanska’s Wroclaw Office Buildings Win Sustainability Awards

On October 14, 2021, Skanska announced that its office buildings in Wroclaw received two awards with Nowy Targ being named the 2021 Accessibility Leader, while Centrum Poludnie received the 2021 PLGBC Green Building Award.

Centrum Poludnie’s win was announced during the gala accompanying the 11th PLGBC Green Building Symposium. According to the company, the idea behind the competition, organized by the Polish Green Building Association, is to “promote modern solutions for sustainable construction.”

In turn, Nowy Targ was recognized in this year’s nationwide “Accessibility Leader” competition organized by the Friends of Integration Association and the Society of Polish Town Planners. The competition’s institutional partner is the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons.

“We design and build our investments in a way that responds to the increasingly urgent need to reduce the negative impact on the climate,” explained Environmental Director at Skanska commercial development business unit in CEE Adam Targowski. “We consciously and consistently implement solutions that bring real benefits to the environment. At the same time, we show that an office developer can be a good neighbor and that his projects should be barrier-free, open, and accessible to everyone.”
