Cornerstone Laid for Valmet Automotive Factory in Zary

Panattoni and automotive supply company Valmet Automotive sp. z o.o. have officially inaugurated the expansion of the factory in the Western Poland town of Zary.

Valmet Automotive specializes in complete convertible roof systems and kinematic systems for the automotive industry, including active spoilers and charging flaps for electric vehicles. The Zary factory will produce advanced aerodynamic systems developed at the company’s research center in Osnabruck, Germany. These systems contribute to increasing the range of electric vehicles and reducing fuel consumption in combustion engine cars.

The cornerstone was laid for the construction of an 8,800-square-meter build-to-suit facility on January 21, 2025 in a ceremony attended by Valmet Automotive’s Management Board President Remigiusz Grzeskowiak, Commercecon President Hubert Hoffman, and Panattoni BTS Head of Business Development Maciej Zawada, as well as representatives of local authorities, including Edyta Gajda, the Mayor of Zary, and Wojciech Kasprow, the Deputy Starost of Zary.

“Thanks to the company’s market successes, we are opening a new chapter today – officially beginning the expansion of the Zary factory,” said Remigiusz Grzeskowiak, SVP of Valmet Automotive. “This will allow us to increase production capacity and strengthen our position in the European automotive market. The investment will ultimately result in the creation of as many as 350 new jobs.”

The expansion being carried out by Panattoni involves the addition of production and logistics space, including social and administrative facilities.

“Modern production facilities have already become a specialty of Panattoni’s BTS department,” said Maciej Zawada, Head of Business Development at Panattoni BTS. “The expansion of the Valmet Automotive factory in Zary is another example of our strategy – creating tailor-made solutions for our partners that support their business growth now and in the future. One of the key elements of this project is ensuring the flexibility of the new facility, enabling it to adapt to the evolving needs of Valmet Automotive. By executing construction alongside ongoing production, we ensure that the process proceeds without disrupting the plant’s current operations.”

Construction is expected to wrap up in the spring of this year, with production at the new facility set to begin in the fourth quarter.
