7R Warehouse in Wroclaw Obtains Highest BREEAM Outstanding Score in Continental Europe

7R is reporting that its 7R Park Wroclaw West II achieved a 95.6 percent score in the BREEAM International New Construction Version 6 scheme — the highest score for an industrial building in continental Europe.

7R Park Wroclaw West II is the first “7R Green Saver” facility, which is, according to 7R, “a sustainable warehouse solution designed to benefit both tenants and investors.”

“Our warehouse is currently the highest scoring certificate of its kind in continental Europe,” said 7R Co-CEO Michal Bialas. “This underlines 7R’s dedication to building environmentally friendly, future-proof facilities that set new industry benchmarks. 7R’s Green Saver line attracts international tenants and investors focused on new facilities of these type of buildings.”

“Thanks to the combined technical solutions, the buildings from this line of 7R products achieve a minimum of 50 percent reduction in operational CO2 emissions and 50 percent reduction in primary energy demand, compared to buildings constructed in accordance with Polish building regulations,” noted Piotr Miodek, 7R’s Head of Construction & Sustainability. “This generates significant savings on operating costs for the tenant and enhances investment value. The BREEAM Outstanding certification is the culmination of our efforts’ explains Piotr Miodek, Head of Construction & Sustainability.”

According to 7R, the 7R Green Saver facility stood out in sustainable construction, earning 100% points in the BREEAM categories for energy efficiency and water management. “This was achieved through the use of high-efficiency air-source heat pumps, a photovoltaic installation will be working in conjunction with its own energy storage system, and advanced lighting control, including an astronomical timer,” said Maciej Runkiewicz, CEO of Kajima Poland, the general contractor of the industrial park. “Water-saving solutions include a cooling system for fire pumps with water recirculation, greywater recovery, and simpler measures such as metering irrigation points and installing aerators in faucets.”

The BREEAM certification process for 7R Park Wroclaw West II was conducted by JWA.
