The GTC Group has released its 2024 ESG Report, highlighting the group’s year-on-year progress in sustainability. In 2024, the company reports, it reduced its CO2 emissions by approximately one fifth, and that 93% of its office and retail buildings now hold one of the internationally recognized environmental certifications.
According to GTC, “the latest GTC ESG Report, prepared in accordance with GRI standards, consolidates data from seven CEE markets, covering the company’s initiatives in environmental protection, support for local communities, and the strengthening of governance standards. Across these countries, GTC owns 39 office buildings and six shopping centers. The nearly 5,200-unit PRS residential portfolio acquired in Germany at the end of 2024 will be included in the next edition of the report.”
Among the key sustainability achievements in 2024 reported by GTC were a 19% year-on-year reduction in direct and indirect CO2 emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) and a 20% decrease in indirect value-chain emissions (Scope 3). These results, GTC says, were driven in part by the growing share of renewable energy used across the company’s portfolio.
“Aligned with its strategic goal,” GTC reported, “GTC is committed to certifying all of its existing and future commercial properties with BREEAM, LEED, or DGNB standards. By the end of 2024, 93% of the group’s buildings were certified, with an additional 5% undergoing certification. All GTC buildings in Poland, Serbia, Romania, and Bulgaria are now fully certified. In 2024, Matrix C in Zagreb achieved DGNB Platinum certification, while Sofia Tower 2 in Sofia was awarded LEED Gold. In addition, 21 GTC properties have obtained ‘Barrier-Free Facility’ or Access4you® certification, confirming their accessibility for individuals with diverse needs, including those with disabilities.”

The report also addresses initiatives related to GTC’s efforts at creating healthy, sustainable, and inclusive communities, the environmental-awareness campaigns and bicycle-promotion initiatives it conducted, and its support
for charitable organizations and local businesses.
The report also includes in-depth insights into GTC’s workplace environment and reported commitment to equity. Currently, GTC reports, 57% of its workforce and nearly half of its managers are women.
