Globalworth, the owner and manager of Supersam, has begun demolition and preparatory work to create a new food court at the mall, scheduled to open in December 2025. The new food court on the ground floor of the building will feature nine venues with a shared dining area, will cover nearly 1000 square meters, and will include an outdoor seasonal garden.
The addition of a catering component to Supersam’s offer will significantly increase its attractiveness as a place that ideally meets the needs of today’s urban customers,” says Artur Apostol, Managing Director – Real Estate Operations, Globalworth in Poland. “Globalworth is the most recognizable company on the commercial real estate market as a leader in the office space market, but we also have extensive experience in managing unique mixed-use facilities. In addition to Supersam, our portfolio also includes Hala Koszyki in Warsaw – the first Polish food hall and Renoma in Wroclaw. At the same time, we specialize in the commercialization and management of multifunctional facilities with catering facilities.”
According to Globalwoth, the modernization and adaptation of the retail and service part of Supersam to the needs of catering establishments required the consolidation of a suitably large area in an easily accessible location on the ground floor. After the lease agreements for three premises expired in the first half of February 2025, the facility manager took over an area of over 900 square meters, and immediately began dismantling and adapting them to its needs. Additional fit-out work will be carried out in April, before the space is handed over to tenants in autumn. The catering zone is expected to open in December 2025.
“Supersam enjoys a stable position on the Katowice retail market,” explained Barbara Wójcik, Asset Management & Retail Leasing Director, Globalworth in Poland. “However, an extensive all-day, comprehensive culinary offer has long been awaited by both customers and tenants interested in entering this location. Using the experience and contacts gained in Hala Koszyki and the PeDeT food&chill zone we created in Wroclaw allows us to create a functional and attractive gastronomic space, adapted to the needs of Supersam users, including office space employees, guests using the fitness center and other services, but also the entire surrounding neighborhood community. I am convinced that we have the potential to make this place an independent culinary destination in Katowice.”
