CTP has completed the transformation of a former tire warehouse at CTPark Bor in the Czech Republic into a modern logistics center which now serves long-time partner DB Schenker.
According to CTP, the renovation included not only a complete revitalization of the existing 17,500-square-meter facility, but also the construction of new administrative areas. The project is part of the development of CTPark Bor, where CTP expects up to 116,000 square meters of premium space in six buildings to soon be available.
DB Schenker currently operates nearly 32,000 square meters of warehouse and logistics space across several CTPark Network locations in the Czech Republic, including Novy Jicin, Humpolec, Blucina, and Bor. CTP reports that this latest expansion at CTPark Bor has enabled the company to relocate its warehousing operations into larger and better-adapted premises. According to CTP, “the renovation included the steam removal of residual rubber vapor from internal surfaces including the ceiling, walls, and supporting concrete structures, as well as the degreasing of all metal surfaces and cleaning of all internal installations. The most extensive work focused on the floor, which was entirely ground down, re-impregnated, and polished. A new two-story office mezzanine was also added, together with expanded parking facilities.”
“Thanks to our long-standing cooperation with CTP, we have been able to expand into new premises without any disruption to our operations, allowing us to manage our logistics flows even more efficiently,” explained Michaela Kadlecova, Facilities Management Specialist at DB Schenker. “The transformation of the original warehouse into a modern logistics center was carried out with a strong focus on our specific needs, ensuring not only higher operational efficiency but also a comfortable working environment for our employees. This expansion enables us to provide faster and more sustainable services to our customers across the region.”
CTPark Bor is powered by renewable energy from solar-power installations on the roofs of two buildings, with the capacity to cover the park’s total energy consumption. The park’s infrastructure includes electric vehicle charging stations and direct connections to public transportation. In addition, the renovated building has been awarded BREEAM Very Good certification, confirming its high level of energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
“At CTP we like challenges, and we take each one as an opportunity to move forward,” noted Jana Hain-Schmiedberska, Business Developer at CTP in the Czech Republic. “The transformation of the former tire warehouse at CTPark Bor is a great example of how we work closely with our partners to create modern and efficient spaces. DB Schenker is a longstanding and trusted partner for us, and we are pleased to be able to provide them with flexible solutions that support their growth. Thanks to projects like this, CTPark Bor continues to strengthen its position as one of the leading business parks in Central and Eastern Europe.”
CTPark Bor is located in Western Bohemia on the E50 motorway, 50 kilometers from Plzen and 15 kilometers from the Czech-German border.
