Panattoni has agreed to build a two-warehouse complex totaling over 207,000 square meters for Media Expert in Lodz under a built-to-own model. The distribution center will employ approximately 300 people, and the total value of the investment amounts to PLN 500 million.
Media Expert — Poland’s largest distributor of consumer electronics and home appliances — operates over 600 retail stores across approximately 470 cities. The company also runs the MediaExpert.pl online store. The new project in Lodz addresses the increasing logistical demands relates to the ongoing growth of the company’s e-commerce channels and retail operations. According to Panattoni, the facility “will support comprehensive distribution across retail, e-commerce, and omnichannel platforms. It will primarily focus on home appliances, consumer electronics, and bicycles, whilst also supporting diversification into segments such as gardening and fitness products.”
“We continue to expand our distribution centers in Lodz — the central location at the heart of Poland enables us to swiftly and efficiently serve customers nationwide,” said Media Expert spokesperson Michal Mystkowski. “Rapid order growth goes hand-in-hand with the continuous expansion of our product range into new categories. This investment marks another significant step in executing our omni-channel strategy and reinforcing Media Expert’s position as a leader in modern retail.”
“Media Expert has been one of our key partners for many years,” commented Marek Dobrzycki, Partner at Panattoni. “This new investment underscores both the tremendous trust placed in us by the company’s management and the effectiveness of our bespoke approach to industrial facility development. Lodz remains one of the most crucial logistics hubs in Poland, and this project further strengthens our presence in the region.”
“The proximity and excellent connectivity of our distribution centers in Lodz facilitate rapid and consolidated deliveries. It significantly reduces order processing time and enhances customer satisfaction,” added Michal Mystkowski. “Effective logistics is essential for building positive customer experiences, which is why we strongly reinforce the synergy between our facilities.”
The complex will be constructed on a plot of over 53 hectares near the Ryptulowice junction (road no. 14, Pabianice bypass), three kilometers from the S14 expressway, the western bypass of Lodz connecting the A2 motorway and the S8 expressway. The investment will consist of 203,904 square meters of warehouse space and 3,656 square meters of office space. Construction is set to begin in the third quarter of this year.
