Panattoni has secured EUR 20.7 million in financing from Bank Milennium to develop a logistics hub for Auchan Polska in Wilcza Gora, near Warsaw.
“The financing from Bank Milennium will allow us to deliver an advanced, high-tech facility of strategic importance to our client,” stated Emilia Taczewska-Trojanska, Head of Debt Finance Poland at Panattoni. “The integration of automated systems will enable Auchan to significantly streamline its operations and scale its e-commerce business in Poland.”
The new fully robotic built-to-suit 18,000-square-meter distribution center will serve the customers of Auchan’s modernized Internet platform. Using automated systems based on artificial intelligence and machine learning from Ocado, this warehouse will enable faster and more effective processing of orders for Auchan’s e-commerce customers. According to Panattoni, “the solutions introduced in the facility will allow for the storage of a greater volume of goods, resulting in a wider choice of products available online. Eventually, customers will have access to a range up to 40,000 different products including fresh produce, groceries and many non-perishable items.”
Construction, which began in the third quarter of this year, is scheduled to conclude in June 2025. The first operations are to be launched as early as the fourth quarter of 2025.
Panattoni reports that the development is to be certified under BREEAM for a rating of Excellent.
