On November 1, 2021, the Balfin Group announced the opening of East Gate Mall in Skopje, one of the largest retail centers in the Balkans, and an investment of EUR 103 million.
This piece of news follows Balfin’s Group announcement as reported by CEE Real Estate Matters on October 27, 2021.
According to the company, the mall is situated in the center of the capital city and ready to welcome about 12 million visitors a year. It boasts five floors, a total area of about 160,000 square meters, a rental space of over 57,000 square meters, and 2,000 parking spaces. A total of 220 stores offer a choice of over 600 brands, 40 of which are introduced for the first time in the country.
East Gate Mall is part of the Skopje East Gate project, a EUR 350 million investment by Balfin Group in North Macedonia.
“We are opening the doors to one of the largest commercial spaces in the Balkans,” declared Balfin Group President Samir Mane. “We envisioned East Gate Mall to be the social and economic pole of the city of Skopje, a reference point for the citizens. We are one of the largest foreign investors in North Macedonia, but we do not feel like foreigners here. I want to thank the country of North Macedonia for the hospitable climate it has created to support the investments of international companies such as ours.”
